The United States Congress and the North Dakota Legislature have great potential to impact people with disabilities and their families. Appropriations bills will determine how much money is allocated to services for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical and other disabilities. Other bills will address health care, insurance, education, and long-term care and support services, to name a few topics.

Legislators (State Senators and Representatives, United States Senators and Representatives) make decisions on how to vote based on information provided to them by their electors (the citizens of North Dakota). It is extremely important that as individuals with disabilities, family members and advocates, we are informed about the issues and that we express our views to our Legislators.
