Public Comment on P&A Priorities and Objectives for fiscal year 2010
Each year P&A sets priorities that govern the allocation of P&A’s resources. The priorities chosen determine the kinds of activities and cases pursued by P&A staff. Priorities and Objectives for the current fiscal year (October 1, 2008 – September 30, 2009) are listed and described on this website.
Information used to develop P&A’s annual priorities comes from a number of different sources:
- consumers, family members, and guardians;
- input from P&A’s governing board (the Committee on P&A) and its two advisory councils: Protection & Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) and Protection & Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security (PABSS);
- issues identified by agency staff; and
- program data.
In July, P&A will develop priorities and objectives for the federal fiscal year beginning October 1, 2009 and ending September 30, 2010 (FY 2010). We are using the month of June to solicit input and gather data to help us in the development of our new priorities.
